Egyptian Reflexology

Egyptian Reflexology

Reflexology, also called zone therapy, is both an ancient science and an art that cannot be traced to any one civilization. There is evidence to suggest that 5000 years ago some form of reflexology existed in ancient Egypt, China and India.

Based on the theory that each body part is holographically represented on numerous parts of our body, Reflexology is practiced by pressing or stimulating a specific area on the ear, hands, feet or face. This pressure can have therapeutic effects in other parts of the body. Massaging or pressing each area can stimulate the flow of energy, blood, nutrients, and nerve impulses to the corresponding body zone and thereby balance the zone.

BENEFITS

Reflexology is a safe and non-invasive modality. It is the physical act of applying pressure to the feet and hand with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oil or lotion. It is based on a system of zones and reflex areas that reflect an image of the body on the feet and hands with a premise that such work effects a physical change to the body. Foot, hand, and ear reflexology helps to normalize and re-balance the body’s functions, can help to gently cleanse the body of toxins, increase circulation, assist in weight loss, and improve the health of organs throughout the body. Reflexology is a method of initiating the body’s own healing ability and can assist people with many conditions including:

Aches and pains Hormonal disturbances Endometriosis
Anxiety and stress Lack of energy P.M.S.
Arthritis Kidney and bladder Infertility
Asthma Neck and back injuries Menopausal Discomforts
Bowel conditions Pregnancy Headaches and Migraine
Grief and depression Sinus conditions Skin conditions

Although no treatment, conventional or complementary can ever guarantee to cure, many people find that Reflexology can bring relief to a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. Reflexology can be of benefit to most people of any age.

THE TREATMENT

On your first visit a completely confidential case history will be taken so that your session can be tailored to your needs. The first session includes a full consultation, and an extra 1/2 hour is added to the treatment time to accommodate this. During this consultation questions are asked about your past and present health, medication being taken, lifestyle and general wellbeing. The rest of the first session will take approximately one hour to complete.

After the treatment a sense of relaxation and well being is usually experienced. It is recommended that you drink plenty of water as this will help to eliminate any toxins from the body that have been liberated during treatment. Very occasionally a recipient may feel a little worse immediately after the treatment or the following day. These feelings are usually very short lived, leaving the recipient feeling the true benefit of the treatment. Most people find they sleep soundly and awake feeling re-energized and uplifted.
