What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy (or hypnosis) is a powerful tool that helps your body and mind to achieve a completely relaxed state of being. The feeling of being in hypnosis is similar to the moment between knowing you are awake and going into the sleep state. During this time you are completely relaxed and when you awake from this state you are rejuvenated.

How does hypnotherapy work?

Hypnosis is a state of highly focused concentration, attention and intention that allows you to connect with the information stored in your subconscious mind and to reprogram outmoded ideas, negative self talk and behaviors that keep you from reaching your goals and objectives. Many times you have beliefs or just thoughts that prevent you from achieving goals. Hypnosis allows you to release those thoughts and deal with the underlying issue they evolve around.

Is hypnotherapy dangerous?

Not at all. Hypnosis is very much like guided meditation. In the case of hypnosis, however, there is a goal to the meditation. The hypnotherapist facilitates the session to keep the client on track with that goal.

Will I quack like a duck?

Only if you want to. This is common misperception. You’ve been watching too much TV. Or maybe visiting the state fair? When a client is in a hypnotic state, they cannot be made to do anything that they do not want to do. The hypnotherapist can’t make you quack like a duck, rip your clothes off, or rob the bank down the street.

What if I can’t be hypnotized?

Most people can. A common misperception is that you might be too smart to be hypnotized. Just the opposite! If you can daydream, you can be put into a hypnotic state.
